Need your opinions please...

First off, I wanna thank everyone on this site for all the great info I've got from here in the past year. You guys are the best!

I have a 99 TL with a rebuilt title that just took a crap on me. The tranny is starting to slip (shifting from 3rd to 4th) and the local Acura dealership here in Tampa, FL told me it would be $3600 to fix. I bought it for $5700 with 82,000 miles and now it has 110,000 miles. I have a hard time justifying spending that much to fix it at this point. Do you think I should get this tranny fixed, sell it "as is" or part it out? The highest offer I have gotten right now was $2800 "as is". Any and all opinions would be greatly appreciated. Here are some pics of the car.

if that's all you got offered than i say keep the car...fix the tranny....you're getting too lowballed for a perfectly fine car (except the glass tranny). Matter of fact, if you want, I have an extra seat in black that's been sitting around. If you want, 50 bucks and its yours, and you can redo the leather on your driver's seat. I only bought the seat for the heating element from njzprettyboy (a member here) and haven't been able to use it since.

why don't you buy a trannie used off ebay or local junk yard and have a local guy do the job? he may charge you no more than 500 for labor, and the part maybe less than 1k

honestly it sounds like u not gonna get back your money for the car. If i had to choose i would either have the tranny rebuild by someone in ur area or seach high n low to find a decent price on a used tranny n have a local shop do it. i used to work at a dealer so the labor rate to change that tranny is 8 hrs at maroone shop rate which was $90.00 dollars n hour. u would get a way better quote goin to local shop.

honestly i dunno. it depends on your area and how heavy the seat is. I sent some headlights recently to a member here and shipping ended up WAY more than we were quoted, so that was kinda upsetting.

but as everyone here has stated, i think you should stick with it and get a tranny. matter of fact, someone here just started a thread on a tl-p 6mt...u may wanna check into that too.
