upgrade HID bulbs?

anyone know where to look some good deals on HID bulbs? i know a local vendor in LA area who is offering some no name taiwanese 8000k replacements for $150 but i am kind of wary of taiwan stuff even though he is giving a 3yr warranty... anyone know where to buy phillips HID from? i think the best i have found on those is around $225 for 6000k. also i have seen from the past some say the 8k is overkill, so maybe 6k is better??

thanks for any help!!

8k isnt so much over kill but under kill. the higher in K you go the less useable light there is. the oem 4200-4700 is the optimum range. the highest id go (if you depend on your lights at night) is 6k

Well what it means is that the bulbs are 100% Water Tight Seal, so say if you cracked your headlights and cleared, or blacked it....most of the time you might not sealed it good..So now you’ll have water or moister in your headlights and when that happens, your $200- ???$$ whatever HID bulbs will pop...
