Updated PCM Part #

Does anyone have the updated PCM part # for the 01s? I had a thread somewhere but can't find it now. Tranny shop is saying 900 for new or 475 used. Found one for $200 part # 37820-P8E-L82 from an 02.

Forgot to add, can't I just get an updated PCM off Ebay as long as it has the right part # and swap it in myself? There should be nothing to reprogram. It's plug and play from what I've read and the idle should smooth out as it relearns it; just like disconnecting the battery.

Nobody knows? I need the updated PCM part # for the 01s. Shop wanted 475 for a reman that can be found on Ebay for $150 and programmed for $100. I will probably sell the car but if I keep it, I want the updated module (having the tranny rebuild). I guess I can call the dealer but would rather not fool with them anymore. I looked on Delray Acura and found a part # but not sure if it's the right one.

I think you'll have to program the PCM to recognize your keys. So I guess you could buy the $150 PCM off eBay, get the car towed to the dealer ($65?) & pay them to program it ($100?).

You do. No need to tow. They're rebuilding my tranny for $2k, crappy 6 mo. / 6k warranty b/c I refused the PCM for almost $500. The car will run when fixed, but will have the old PCM. Buy the new part online, drive the car to the shop, and have them swap out the old PCM/install the new PCM (bring all keys); they will program it.

Ah, gotcha. Good solution, I may have to do that if I decide to get the new PCM.

Hey, where did you get this info from?

For a KA5AT 02 TL-P, a dealership told me that
37820-P8E-A62 was the most recent, however you say:
37820-PJE-A65 is.

Would you happen to know the difference or is it possible their database is out of date?

I found the TSB where he got the info from. The part ending in 335 is correct; however, I noticed the same issue when doing a search for one as well. At Delray Acura or any of the online wholesale Acura parts dealers, they show those part #s ending in A62 or A65. The replacement part # noted on my repair ticket today when I picked the car up ended in 305RM (this was the "updated" one I refused). RM means remanufactured obviously. What's funny is that the existing part # in the car now ends in 305, so is the 305RM rebuilt with new firmware? Otherwise, it appears that they just wanted to put a reman of the same freaking thing I have in there.

There has to be some kind of cross reference # to these parts.

I got the car back today, ran it through the car wash, and got the inside cleaned up. Man, it looks good. Sucks because I like this car but need a truck/SUV. I don't wanna give it up, but I'm pissed at Acura and I am sitting on another ticking time bomb.

Hmm, well I figured out what the case was for me:

I have an 02 KA5AT TL-P,
Delray shows: 37820-P8E-A62

But if I select an 03, same specs,
Delray shows: 37820-PJE-A65,
just what juanclopez2786 listed above, for ka5at 02-03 tl/cl

Makes me think that either of these p/ns will work for an '02.

No one's upgraded their PCM that can offer any advice with regard to p/n interchange?

Behind left side of rear seat back:

You got the control unit being pointed to and the system interface unit (right below the word "Rear" in the pic) also.

if this is the case then deny the pcm. u can still run the car after the tranny swap. all the pcm does is lower your power output. the real flaw is in the tranny passages
