I purchased the Unichip for my '02 TL-S in the first group buy. I may be trading the TL in a few months so if anyone is interested in buying let me know.

Total cost was ~$610.

Damn, I wish I can volunteer my TL with CAI and headers.

So does anybody know how much it will cost to map it with CAI and headers? And where can I get it done?

Keep me updated.

Got this in my inbox...

Dear V6P.net Members and friends,

Great news!! Our partner Jack at Unichip has announced completion of
their research and development effort for 6th Gen Accord (1998-2002)
with Comptech Supercharger. DYNO chart, matrix, and pricing will be
made available on our web site over the weekend. Our members will also
now be able to purchase this Unichip configuration (tier 3) through our
eStore as early as Monday, August 23rd.

To allow everyone taking advantage of this latest offering and our
special pricing, we have decided to extend our special pricing
promotion until end of day on August 26, 2004 (11:59pm). At the same
time, we sincerely hope members needing extra time to complete their
Unichip purchase, can take advantage of this extension and make their purchase
ASAP. This pricing will not be offered again, so don't miss out!!

Equally good news, is for members that has very customized performance
enhancements. Unichip is now available as "blank, no-map" version for
$100 less!! The extra saving not only makes Unichip even more
affordable; it also allow these group of members to fully take
advantage of Unichip and maximize their overall performance gains. In addition,
Unichip offers a one time FREE upgrade-remap of your Unichip when you purchase
it during the group buy. Please read their FAQ regarding the Free Re-map offer.

For members still wanting to take advantage of this excellent Unichip
performance package, and still will not be able to participate for a few months,
here's a offer for you: You recruit another member to purchase a Unichip now,
and he/she tells us who recruited them, and we will sell you the Unichip at this
introductory price. Only one V6P member per recruited Unichip buyer. So no
more excuses, you help us with our sales and we will help you get the
performance product you want.

V6P sincerely appreciate your order and support. Your participation has
demonstrated to the manufacturers that v6p.net is a team of
individuals serious in wanting top quality products for their cars.
This is a major milestone in V6P.net existence and is made possible
because of our dedicated and loyal members.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, ENJOY!!

Realize if you purchase a "blank chip" you will need to have a custom tune performed at a UniChip distributor (which can be hard to find), and will cost you $150-$300.

Guys,

I have the Unichip in my '02 TL-S and have had it custom tuned.

If I had it to do over again, I would not puchase the chip. Money can be better spent on mods that produce more bang for the buck.

I would purchase headers, intake, or pulleys. The minimal Unichip gain is not worth the investment or problems.

i dont know how much i would trust a "mail ordered map" everyones car runs different ly and the chip might not have the right map for your car and the mods you have. the guys over at ACL seemed to be having a number of issues with the map that were on the chip from the start.. a few of them had to get them custom tuned.. which really is the best thing to do.... the gains from the chip will also be minimal if you are NA.

i actually think buyin the unichip blank and having it tuned for your car is a much smarter purchase....where you do the tuning...well, thats a different problem

im sure it would be pretty easy to find a tuner.... im not sure about FL but here in Toronto there are a number of places that can get it done for you...... they charge about 100CDN per hour so its definately not cheap!

I have a custom tuned Unichip in my '02 TL-S now. It adds very little hp or torque.

Save your money and apply it to the cost of the supercharger. I strongly discourage anyone wasting their money on this mod.

If you don't have headers or Icebox, I would recommend buying them first.

I with waht the other guy said regarding them not being custom because each car runs different. You are paying for th RND because the price for the materials to make these chips are not expensive.

^ Actually the UniChip and S/C won't work together. You won't want to advance timing or cut fuel with the S/C. Advancing timing and leaning things out with a N/A motor will make more power. But with the S/C you'll want to retard timing if anything to compenstate for the boost to prevent detonation. Also, you won't need to (or want to) cut fuel with the blower.

The UniChip also lacks the ability to control pulse width of the injectors (something the GReddy eManage can do) and something that would benefit cars that opt for higher than normal boost levels (i.e., 7-9 psi)

It has worked on an Accord with a S/C... although that is a different engine (lower compression, different cams, etc) With the S/C the GReddy eManage is the way to go. Contact Steve Calbert (scalbert) on the A-CL board regarding a PnP harness and preprogramed fuel maps for the CL/TL + S/C'er

The idea to me is fixing up the car that people wouldn't fix up. Kind of a pride for what you have thing. I know the tl-s is faster stock but what happens when i burn him/her thinking that i am stock? that is the fun part! *SHrug* For the love of it all... something to do...? Lost without a cause? come to think of it but what's the excitement in that?!?
