uh oh, messed up my temp needle

well went to install the indiglo gauges today, all good, but i messed theneedle up. when the cars on, it moves up a bit, but slowly, and gives wrong readings all the time, its not sticking, its the needle, so if i buy another cluster, can i just remove the fuel/temp gauge portion and replace it on the exsisting one?

yes you can, just undo the metal clip/ clamp, on the back of the board and push on those and it will pop out

I don't know what year you have, but for the 99, make sure you get one for it, not the 00-03. It will not give work.

How did you mess it up? Did you remove the needle or you just messed up by moving it up & down?

when i said it wasnt cut good, u know how theres the actual gauge face, then the little oval/cirlce holes so it can sit properly? mine were not cut proper, and didnt fit exact, or straight, so i had to trim it a bit,

btw i got a 2000 gauge cluster, the temp/fuel gauge wont work no matter what? or r u just sayin that cuz of the model year difference, anyone know for sure? thanks for de help.]

i own a 99.

if u own a 99, u can only use the 99 oil/temp gauge, 00+ will not work.

Isnt it impossible to recailbrate the tach/speedometer needles once theyre tampered with...?

Wow this is an old thread... if you screw up the speedometer needle you can follow a friend and match his speed, then with the plastic cover off you can remove the needle and put back in the right place. It may not be very accurate but it'll be close. I dont know about the tach. I imagine you can put the needle back in while the car is idling.

My speedometer needle is good. I messed up the temp needle and gas needle. The other two needles are still good.

Well then id recomend filling the tank up. and letting the car get up to normal operating temp. Once those are done with teh car running stick the needls on at the correct spots. and dont push them on too hard or they will stick/hang up
