ugh, early blemishes

I have had my car for 2.5 months.

I live in Michigan, where, as our roads thaw, we have massive potholes and debris in the roads...it sucks.

I don't view myself as a parking nazi, although am fairly cautious when parking so careless people don't ding my car.

In the first month I owned the car, I got a door ding. Oh well, crap happens. Was going to get it bumped out a paintless dent removal place.

In the second month, driving down the road, WHAM, big double chip in the windshield...oh well...thats why I carry a $0 deductible. At the same time, took a rock to the hood, and got a nice paint chip as well.

Last night, I park at hockey, the car is a bit dirty. I notice today that there is a spot on the 'good side' (the one without the unfixed door ding, and some of the dirt is rubbed away. Upon closer inspection, i see some nice surface scratches caused from another careless person dragging their hoceky bag along side my car.

so much for having a 'clean' car. I wonder what else I will find when I hand wash it the next time?

As for your chips in your body, try using some touch-up paint. Not the greatest solution..but somewhat of a fix. Also, that "spot" caused by the hockey bag...try claybaring or waxing it out.

Can you clay bar a particular spot? Or, do you have to do the whole car?

I may end up taking it to a detailer and having them bring the car back to it's 'new' state.

You could just claybar that area just to get that "blemish" out .. and doing the rest of the car wouldn't hurt.
