The 2000 is for sure LEV... 2001 maybe. But I think the 2002 has ULEV.

Hey I heard some rumors that ULEV cars will be able to use the car pool lane without having to have 2 ppl in the car?? There is some legislation that is in the works.. anyone heard of this??

Yup the CA 2001 TL is already ULEV status.

I also heard that maybe low emission cars will be allowed to use California carpool lanes without the usual minimum occupancy requirement. I know that electric and hybrids will qualify for this exemption, if passed. I don't know about ULEV cars like our TL's.

ULEV isn't only for California. I have a 2000TL and it's ULEV. My frien's 99 isn't though. Weird.

California TL will be ULEV, but the California TL Type-S will only be LEV.

I thought that CA was requiring SULEV (Super Ultra Low) to be able to use the carpool lanes. Perhaps that is only down here in LA, or perhaps they are changing.
