I own a stock 3.2 TL and I was looking to purchase some TL-S Tail Lights. I was just wondering if the clear part above the red was the part that blinks when signaling or if thats only for Reverse. Also I was wondering if its worth buying the TL-S lights or just trying to do it myself, any follow up would be appreciated!

when you signal left or right the clear becomes orange cause of the orange lights. when you put it in reverse the light is white

The clear part of the TL-S blinks and it is for reverse either just like you TL.

The difference is the yellow cover is replaced by a clear cover. Looks sportier though with the clear cover....

Yes that part is the blinker, you can use clear or amber bulbs.
Definately worth it to get them..

i don't think you can clear your stocks yourself since the lens is made from transparent orange....er, you will have to cut it out and replace with clear. had it been a clear lens with an orange diffuser inside, then clearing it yourself it possible.

it's better to buy it...only $300 for the set from snook.

 

I would just buy from this site. If you gonna mod your stock lights, I bet you that you going to mess up. Definitely get it because half red and half clear tails looks tightttt!!!

Thanks for the info everyone, I'm new to the boards, I'm from San Diego and just got my stock '00 tl with nav couple weeks ago.... pretty sick first car eh? I'm hoping to get the lights here and then just buy some clear bulbs from a shop around here. If anyone else has suggestions for some necassary mods please feel free to leave em. Any one else in the SD area?

IMO, the 02 tails do make a big cosmetic difference. Take a look at my sig...

Why're you getting clear bulbs when the original stock ones are already clear? Snook sells the 02 tails with or without the harness + amber bulbs. So you wouldn't need additional "clear" bulbs.

If you're talking about the super white clear bubls... then that is another story. Just watch out for the cops cuz they don't like you blindin' ppl behind you!
