Type-S A-spec

Well I saw my first A-Spec up close, (I parked my TL beside it and ogled for a bit).

It was black and I like it a lot. The spoiler is so cool and the pictures do not do it justice. The rear exhaust and body kit is very understated and thats why I like it. The smoked front lights look great with the black paint colour.

I love the brushed aluminum interior parts but still have problems with the blue inserts to the seats and steering wheel and shifter.

Overall this is a great package for the dollars.

I cannot understand why this car is not offered in the USA. Acura would sell a ton.

The only question is the mags which are just average.

Heh funny you parked next to it. Did you happen by to spot it while driving and then decided to park next to it or were you just around the area? Dang, it would be nice to see your car with the A-Spec next together, just to compare and contrast.

It is strange that they wouldn't offer the A spec in the US.
They are not selling that well here. I asked an Acura Customer Service rep and she said she believed that they were only halfway through the alloted amount.
I have a tendency to believe her since my A spec was ordered on
June 24th. Delivered July 7th and has a build date of 02/03. If they were selling that great I wouldn't think the vehicle would have been sitting there for 5 months before leaving the factory.

As luck would have it I took a photo of the 2 cars from the rear and I will post it shortly. And when I saw it and happened to be parking anyway, I parked right beside it because I am a freak.

What colour did you get and was it hard to get? How much did it cost.

Don't want to brag, but just got a Black A Spec, very cool car and great upgrade from my Integra GS. I'm very surprised that this vehicle is not avilable else where than Canada? Planning to keep it for a while, even though that the Blue inserts are not my favorite choice but really makes it unique. I was told that 800 where availoable in Canada, but could not confirm this info.

I actually like the two-tone interior. Very sporty.

This is no surprise. Cars don't usually sell well when the new model replacements are a couple of months away, unless the factory offers a hugh discount to move them.

I was at North Shore Acura recently and they have an A-Spec in the showroom. IMHO I can't say I am crazy about the wheels or the 2 tone interior treatment nor the brushed aluminum trim pieces.

They also have two used 1999-2001 TLs listed around $22-23k. Talk about massive depreciation. Ouch!

You would think Honda would be selling on a first in first out rule.
5 months from the factory still seems a little excessive.
I am happy with my car. The wheels are a little cheesy. I actually prefer the 5 spoke vs the 7 spoke. The 2 tone seats don't bother me that much, again I would have preferred the seats from the Cl. They have more bolstering for spirited driving.
I get a lot of looks and compliments on the car and I'm hopefull that the look of the car will age gracefully.
