You will also need VAFC (eg: Apexi) and lots of tuning work.

REALLY? Are you SURE no tuning is required? And what kind of performance increases would one feel?

To be technically correct, 1fasttl is right - no tuning is required. The Type-S cam is a direct swap with the TL-P cam. However the gains from just a TL-S cam swap is nothing to get excited about. If you want to maximze the most HP out of the TL-S cam, you need a VAFC.

To do.......what? If I got a VAFC and type S cams what kind of gains could be expected?

Well if a stock Type-S has about 35 more HP than a TLP...and you know that there is a whole lot more of a difference between the two engines than just the cam...so someone who is interested can probably make an educated guess

My speed shop told me that he has done a few TL-S cam & VAFC installs on 98-02 model AV6. With tuning, gains were about 10-15 HP. Not sure if the tuning was street tuning or dyno tuning. For us with TLs, we should see similar gains, perhaps a little more.
