Question Type-S Badge at Risk?

Just wondering, has anybody's Type-S or Acura badge been stolen? Esp. with the RSX coming (and there will be a Type-S instead of a Type-R) out I think our badges might be more at risk. There will always be that punk who buys the regular RSX and steals a Type-S badge to put on it...

I'm travelling to NYC later this month and I'm worried about the badge, the wheels, the headlights, THE CAR -- but it's no fun if I just leave it in the garage to protect it.

pure speculation of course...
maybe acura left the type-R name open for a even higher performence (supercharged?) rsx? still the type-s looks crazy...7900rpm redline!!!

not really old topic...its just traditionally integras have either been normal and type-R. with the new type-s trend that acura is following it leaves open the possibility for acura to make a rsx type-R that can be even higher performing than the type-s.

When you have a nice car, everything is at risk. I'm sure there will be ppl who'd try to jack off your Type S emblem. Just pray they will do a good job and not scrtach your paint.

That's exactly why I decided to de-badge mine. Instead, I have the "3.2TL type-S" emblem on my dash in between the 2 air vents on the shotgun side. The chrome emblems in between the blackwood covered air vents look pretty good. I've gotten alot of compliments about it already, and most of all, people think it originally came that way.

Cool

That's why the first thing I'm doing is upgrading my alarm to a Clifford. That way, with a shock sensor, the alarm will go off if someone starts messing with stuff (more worried about headlights then the badges). This is something the stock alarm doesn't do well (or at all).....

The Type-S is a slightly sportier version of the base model...the R-versions are radical and are pure factory tuned racers that can also be driven on the streets. eg. The Acura Integra Type-R...

Recently on a trip to England, I briefly drove a Honda Accord Type-R...unlike the US-spec Accords, the European Accords actually look very good - has got an Audi A4 look to it from the back, but larger. When driving the Accord Type-R (Right hand drive with gear shifting with left hand), there is no way you would figure out that it is a FWD car, unless you are specifically told about it. Absolutely marvellous other-worldly handling.

A while back, one of the premier European magazines did a test of various Sedans there for Handling, and the final tally went something like this:

1. Audi S4 Twin Turbo (AWD)
2. Honda Accord Type-R (FWD)
3. BMW 328i with Sport Package (RWD)
....and a host of others following....

The margin between the Audi S4 and the Honda Accord Type-R (for handling) was, I believe just one single point.....

Also, if Honda decides to come out with a TL Type-R , you can bet your last buttons that the Type-S would not even hold a candle to it, for handling or acceleration....

But obviously, Honda probably does not see a market for such a radical car....
