trying to upgrade need some help

After driving home from vacation i notice the i wanted the car to handle better. I have some extra money saved up and im pretty new at modifying cars so im going to need some help. I was thinking about lowering the car so where and what kind of springs should i go with, and if i would have to worry about anything in the future by just having spring instead of changing everything. Also strut bar, and if sway bar would make a big difference. what brand and where to buy it for the best price would be great. Thanks

see Marcus- MrHeelToe in the Sponsored Sales area here or www.heeltoeauto.com

He has the Cusco lower frame stiffner bar and the upper strut tower bar too.
Those are needed to give the frame rigidity the bigger bars will be able to use!

Just putting drop springs on OE shocks is asking to do the job again soon
when the worn, stock shocks suddenly have different parameters to work in.
Which they were never intended/designed to do.
For the labor involved- do your springs and shocks together
Tokiko or KYB work well in our cars- or go high dollar for Teins or Bisteins

Is Cusco the best company to go with or is there a better one out there? What company should i go with on the sway bar and does it make the car handle a lot better?

cusco is a know name brand, so if you could settle with cusco you are good to go. swaybar will help to eliminate the leaning issue when making turns. if you have leaning problem, then you will see a big difference.

You will notice the sway bar differance when you throw it into a sharp turns and slalom type driving it really shows its stuff.
The key is starting with a stiff chassis and working out from there

Look up "Excelerate" post in Off Topic Sponsored Sales- he usually has sway bars and the brains to get you the right ones for your driving style

My current setup is eibach sway kit with bilstein shocks and H & R sports springs (50103's) and I feel a hell of a difference. It's not as smooth as stock ride but you get that performance feel and it corners ALOT better TO ME.

If I were you, I would upgrade in this order.

EIBACH SWAYS
BILSTEIN SHOCKS
EIBACH PRO KIT SPRINGS
NEUSPEED STRUT BAR
CUSCO LOWER STRUT BAR

Handling should be good enough with the eibach sways. Add the bilsteins with the rest of the stuff mentioned and you'll be pretty satisfied with handling IMO.

Thanks for all the information i learned a lot. I think im going to start out with cusco strut brace only problem i have now is that they have a adjustable one and one that doesnt adjust, which one is best to go with. Along with that im also getting underbody brace too. Is that the best way to start, then later on down the road get front and rear sway bars. i would like to lower it with just springs but it seems like thats not the best way to go cause of future problems, my pocket is not that full to change everything out.

The TL is a 4X4. You need to lower the vehicle and bring the vehicle closer to the center of gravity. I recommend TEIN Basics for adjustable ride height and a firmer, sportier ride that isn't stiff nor bouncy. Then get some better tires than the Michelins. They are soft and they roll on themselves. Finally get yourself a beefier RSB. Eibach does make a whole set - front and rear, but the 3rd gen TL RSB's will also fit the on 2nd gens.

PM me for pricing.

i think this is a great setup:
H&R sport springs #50103
Bilstein Shocks ($$$) or Tokico Blues($)
Eibach Sways

or Tein Basics coilover and eibach sways

definately trash the OEM tires. even if you do just that, you will notice an improvement

See Marcus at MrHeelToe for the Cusco parts 1-949-295-1668
Either upper bar is fine and the lower is a direct bolt on as well
A strong foundation makes for a better handling car
All the trick parts in the world do no good if the structure is moving under them!

Damn I did not know that, and I bet a bunch of other 2gen'ers would be really interested in that...
