The Truth About Our Lower Balljoints
Ok so today I replaced my front lower balljoints, inner and outer tierods, sway bar links, and sway bar bushings. Well anyways while I was doing my research last nite about how to replace the lbjs, I came across a bunch of threads regarding a tsb about how if your lbj is stamped with a "b" it cant be replaced for some reason. Well I am here to clear up all the confusion. Balljoints with the "b" stamp can be replaced. How do I know you may ask? Because I replaced mine thats how. I took some pics so if you guys like I can upload them a little later, but for right now im on my way to grab some grub.

All I did was remove the knuckle from the vehicle, put the knuckle in a vice, I then placed a 32mm socket over the threaded segment of the lbj, and then proceeded to hammer it out with my bfh. To install I just left the knuckle in the vice, sanded the lbj opening, applied a little grease, then placed my 36 mm socket over the back of the new lbj and hammered it back in. Don't forget to install the c clip your new lbj will come with. Make sure you have a good set of snap ring pliers or else you'll probably end up spending more time fighting to get the c clip in place than anything else.

Yeah, I fully agree with Fsttyms. Last time I needed to do this, I had a friend loan the C-press kit from a local auto parts store. All he had to do was to pay the deposit for the price of the kit, in case it wasn't returned or was damaged. Once the job was done, took the BJ removal kit back to the store for a full refund of deposit.

I originally planned on renting one of those presses, but advance had all their kits already loaned out, and i read somewhere that the autozone press doesnt have the proper honda adapters for our vehicle. I do agree that the press would be the best choice of removal, but in my case it was not an option.

Nice pics, will show others what to expect.
When ya had it torn down, it would've been a good time to replace the wheel bearing if it was the original. That's what I did when my ball joints went south. I got Timkens for about $30 @ Rockauto.com. When you're in there, it's not much more work....a lot cheaper than going back in later !!!! Also, clean everything up and use a rust preventative on the knuckle surfaces.
