trouble starting in non cold weather
I often read about our TL having trouble starting, but those usually came during cold temperatures. Today it was 60s or 70s, humid, showers on and off. It took 4 tries to get my car going, and it struggled to get started that final time. Any thoughts?

what do you mean by not starting...was it not catching...was it turning over...be more descriptive...

Do you have any trouble with the Engine Check Ligh?
If you have that issue, then there ain't much you can do but wait for the recall...
I just realized that quite a lot people got this peoblem.. Well, at least most TL owners that I have talked to.....

I've not had that problem yet, even though I live in Florida. But it could have been due to a number of things: 1) Wet ignition system - you mentioned it was raining and humid. 2)Inadvertently "pumping" the gas pedal - not needed with SFI. 3) The recalls for aforementioned "check engine light" or intermittent vapor lock problems. 4)Making sure the gas cap is on at least "3 clicks" tight. If it does it again, check out the easy things above and take it to the dealer if you can't resolve it. FWIW.

I have had problems starting cars when there was a large temp change from the last time the car ran. If it was 60 when the car was turned off and now it is 20 there is going to be a problem. I think the problem is that when you start the car the temp sensors don't boot right away and the computer takes a best guess at what it thinks the temp is. When it guesses wrong you get to crank longer or crank several times.
The way I have found to get around this (with both my old 89 chevy and my 97 nissan) is to first turn the key to run, wait 5 seconds then turn to start. Cranks over nice and fast. I can't comment on Acura since I don't have mine yet. But I also found this to be true on BMW.

Thanks for the responses. It was raining and extremely humid, so I suppose that would be the best guess at this. I did pump the gas pedal, but that was on my final try, and thats what I believe got my car started. Anyways, it had no problems today, thanks again.
