trouble loading CD's?

Just got my TL last Thurs. I love it. (2002 TL-S w/ navi)

I've been having a little trouble loading CD's into the changer. I know I'm supposed to hit Load and wait until the display says "load". Sometimes I takes the CD, no problem. Most of the time, it seems to not want to take it and give an "Error" message after a few tries. I definitely don't want to force the CD in there.

I was wondering if this is just a learning issue for me or if other people are having this issue.

I used to have this problem too, when I first got the car. What works for me is inserting the cds at an angle.. this is hard to explain, but basically, I put the cds in from the left side. Once I got accustomed to this, it never jammed or refused a cd again.

I had the same problem that you mention. The solution for
me was what my2sense says about angling the CD's. Basically,
I tilt them down slightly toward the CD player. If you insert
them straight and level, you will get the error. Best of luck!

Like everyone else says, the player is sensitive to the angle at which you put the CDs. Unlike rhiannon1207, I found that unless I put the discs in perfectly straight, I have trouble. I found that holding the discs in the center made for an easier feed than holding them by the edges. I was more likely to line up correctly when I grabbed in the center. You'll get used to it in no time.

I've noticed the same thing too, and the solution is the same: insert the CD perpendicular to the head unit's face. That means that you need to tilt the end of the CD that is closest to you upwards.

This is definitely a design flaw: there's an assembly gap right there at the mouth of the CD changer that will entrap your CD's if you don't angle it when you put it in.
