Tree Sap.....

So I was downtown last night and parked along the river. I go out today and see a whack load of tree sap all over my TL!!! I mean it is covered from front to back

So after I let my anger out I go and wash the car..... It doesnt seem to come off...........

What have you people used to get something like that off???? What kind of "special" product to get it off without taking my paint off????

Thanks in advanced.......

Well, sadly I've used alcohol just a dab but would never recommend it. I'm telling you as a warning, it's the stupidest, laziest thing I've done. I only used it because it wasn't my car and it came off quick and with little rubbing. But the long lasting haze reminds you of how dumb what you did was. Someone earlier recommended vinegar and someone else said just warm water and some elbow grease. I haven't tried it yet but sounds like good ideas.

I wold try some 3M General Adhesive Remover ($15). It comes in a quart can with a squirt nozzle. After using that though you might as well wax the car because there probably won't be any left on it afterwards. Don't worry, It won't take the paint off. If you can't find the 3M (most body shop supply stores should have it) then just use bug-n-tar remover.

Thanks for all the help..... I am gonna try some of your ideas. Someone as well told me that Bug-N-Tar remover work just great. I'll give 'er a try and let you know......

I've learned my lesson ..... don't park under the popular trees downtown....

Cheers....

just remember to make sure whatever bug and tar remover you use doesnt contain acitone or you will be stripping clearcoat and paint with the tar.
