I recently had my transmission replaced ... 99 TL. After 2500 miles the check engine light came on and the code indicated a problem with the transmission. The dealership reset the check engine light and said to drive it for awhile. After 500 miles the light came on again... this time I was told the shift solenoids are faulty.
Is this reasonable or am I being jerked around. What are these solenoids and shouldn't they have been replaced with the 2nd transmission?
Should these be replaced under warranty?
What is the power control module and should this be replaced when the transmission is replaced?
Any help on on eor more of these areas would be appreciated.

well they really should cover the costs seeing as this problem shouldn't have come back so quickly. Even though it's a problem with something other then the physical transmission, i personally would b*tch at them till they replace it for free. I think they have a 1 year 20000km/12000 mile warranty on everything they fix. bring it back and complain.

well, i believe the solenoids are inside the tranny. I think they move the fluid around when the gears change..

I was told by the dealer that the solenoids are covered by the warranty. They should have been relaced when the transmission was replaced. Hope this fix solves the problem with shifts. Anyone else had this happen with their replacement transmission.
Should i check to see if the transmission control module was replaced?
