Transmission slips

Transmission slips
I have a 2000 3.2 tl with 149k miles. The transmission slips I have read that the 3x drain and refill can help. Where can I find precise directions for this.

Well, unfortunately if it is already slipping it's probably too late. A fluid change may help for a little while but will probably just delay the inevitable. How does the current fluid look and smell? If it is burnt and real dark then I probably wouldn't bother spending money on a case of fluid. You should also change the filter if you are going to change the fluid.
anyways, if you do go with it, there are a lot of threads explaining the procedure but it is pretty simple. Just do a drain, refill with ~3 quarts, and then drive around for at least a few miles while shifting thru all the gears. Then repeat a couple more times. You can also do the first drain and fill and then drive a couple hundred miles and then repeat two more times but since yours is slipping I would just do the drain and fills in quick succession.

Its as simple as it sounds... Drain and Fill (3 quarts) by 3 Times.
The gap between changes should be at least 100 miles or 1 week to let the new fluid dilute with the old one.

interesting, never thought of doing it this way, i did a 3X2 with castrol tranny fluid about 7k ago, my trans is shifting great, but i still want to do a 3X3 with oem honda fluid. Or maybe i should leave it along since its shifting great, btw, previous owner had trans fluid replaced about 4k miles before i bought the car, so the trans has been maintained.

^ I would stay with OEM Fluid, Honda and Acura trans are very picky with their Trans Fluid and you should avoid using Aftermarket Universal ATF on them.
There is a nice package of 12quarts of DW-1 on amazon at a great price, Those are enough for 4 drain and fills.

Make sure to check ATF level with the car at operating temp., on a level surface, right after shutting off the engine.
The fluid level should fall between the upper & lower marks on the ATF dip stick.
