Transmission problems. Help!!!?

I've got a 1999 Acura TL 3.2. When I put it drive it won't move. If you sit there in drive sometime it will catch gear and go until you get on the highway and it won't shift from 2-3. Then just sitting parked with car in drive it jumps and goes out of gear. Check engine lights was and computer said it was the shift solenoid so I replaced it and cleaned the filters. Check engine light went off but still no luck. It continues with the same problem. Sometime when I put it in reverse it makes a loud clicking noise. Someone please help with a solution if there is any. Thanks

Hi and Welcome!

First of all how is the ATF Looking? Brown, Dark? or Cherry Red?
Your symptoms seems correct with a Solenoid Malfunction you could help us out if you can provide the Exact OBDII Code so we can help you further.

The Reverse Clicking noise is pretty common on Honda transmissions they are just loud when engaging reverse no worries.

OBD II reader.

It may also be your axles.

Jack up the car and put it on jackstands and then check the boots CV boots for rips and slightly tug on the axles themselves for play.

wipe some on a white paper towel . it should not have a brown tint to it.

how many miles on the trans fluid?

what brand is it?

did the prob just start or has it been this way since you bought the car?

how did it shift prior to this occurring?
