My car (03 type S) makes a weird noise when I'm cruising on the hiway. It starts at 2500 rpm untill 4 or 5K and then the vtec sound takes over. It's sounds like almost as if there's a hole in the exaust line somewhere in front and only when I'm driving not when its in park. Engine sounds very nice when I rev it in park or neutral. So I'm thinking it might be the transmission. My transmission has been changed by the dealer already under warranty. Anyone had this problem or might have an idea whats causing it ? Any info is appreciated ...

 

have you had the exhaust checked?
IS the trans fluid level ok?

stop by the dealer and ask for the head tech to take a run around the block with you to see if its anything to worry about

you should be breaking the replacement trans in gently, like a new engine

 

exaust seems okay and the sound started about 30k km with the new transmission. Maybe I wasn't used to TLs when I 1st bought it to notice any sound with the first transmisson.
