Transmission leak.

Hello all, this might not be the right place to put this BUT this area gets more views and I need some advice/answers asap.

My car has been leaving two separate leaks on my garage floor.

1. Oil pump is leaking (I think that's the proper term, but it has to do with the oil pump)

2. The seal that surrounds the two half's of my transmission case is leaking.

Good news is that my transmission still works BUT this might be signs of bad things to come. I understand that the transmission needs to come out in order for that to be fixed. I also understand it will be expensive to fix that problem.

When the car was in the air, the mechanic showed me the Axle seal was leaking which I saw and that was replaced and Fixed. Now the transmission case has a leak. (They both might of been leaking at the same time or the leak could have traveled down and made it seem like the Axle seal was bad)

The oil pump leak is not first on my list to fix and not as big of an issue as my transmission case.

I will not be driving my car until the transmission issue gets fixed.

1999 Acura TL with 169,000 Miles. I bought the car with 88,000 miles. I have never had an issue with the transmission until now.

QUESTIONS:

1. What is an estimated cost to repair the transmission case leak?

2. Could there be a more serious issue internally that may cause the leak?

3. Would it be worth fixing the transmission leak since the car has high mileage? (Once the tranny gets repaired, other issues usually happen soon after)

4. Estimated price to fix oil pump?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The car has been great to me for about 7 years. If the price to fix both problems is not over 900 then I will most likely fix the car and keep it.
If its over 900 then I'm going to have to look at getting a different car.

If i decide to NOT fix it and get a different car, how do I get rid of this car with the issue it is having now?

I'm going to a transmission shop tomorrow to get an estimate.

Thanks for any answers/advice that are posted.

P.S.....THIS SUCKS financially

find out exactly where the atf leak is,,from betweewn the case halves is not something Ive heard before
do you mean where the engine meets the transmission?
fluid from inside the inspection plate underneath trans there?
should be engine oil from rear main if thats the cause

axle seal leak is fairly common with your miles,,,and low fluid level from that may cause other trans problems

99s with 4 speed are very reliable as you have found,
just to remove trans and do anything is 6 hours labor..

as it sits- probably worth something to a ziner type person looking for a clean body to drop a CL-S engine and 6 speed manual trans into
