I second that. Nothing but Honda/Acura and absolutely NO performance additives!

I think it was Road Rage that said it nicely: "Honda marches to their own drummer" when it comes to ATF.

Regular Dexron will make the car behave very badly. Hard shifts, slippage, etc. According to the manual it will get you home in a pinch but plan on flushing the fluid soon and replacing it with Honda. Also, make sure your local Quicky Lube does not top it off the ATF, either. They will probably use Dexron.

 

The Rage himself speaks:

"Use Honda ATF-Z1 ONLY". This is the latest spec ATF designed for all 2001 and up Hondas, and usable as a backfill for previous years.

It is also spec'd for the greater demands of the CVT, so it is the best protection available.

Use it, or lose it!

 

yah.i got my cls trans fluid changed at 13000 miles about 2 months ago at my local acura dealership.cost me about $50 plus tax.
