Transmission Fix?

No codes came up on my tranny but there was some shifting problems. Hard up shifts and hard downshifts also what seemed like it was having a tough time to get into all gears. All mounts were either brand new or not in need of replacing. Also no mechanical problems. So I just assumed this 6 month old transmission is the problem. Hate to have it replaced under the warranty it has. So decided to try this stuff out.

It is called Lube Guard and it is a friction modifier. It`s supposed to:
For use with any required *ATF’s!
Prevents overheating, reducing elevated operating temperatures
up to 40°FExtends fluid life
Eliminates transmission fluid foaming and oxidation
Reduces wear throughout the transmission
Eliminates clutch chatter and torque converter shudder
Optimizes total transmission performance
Softens and modifies harsh shifts making them quicker in duration
Maintains proper ATF viscosity index in the torque Converter
Provides for smoother shifting
Eliminates objectionable noises during shifts
Keeps valves and governors free and frees stuck valves in valve bodies
Assists in eliminating warranty comebacks
Raises the thermal and oxidative stability of the fluid
Only protectant that increases the fluid’s ability to transfer heat
Does not contain any harmful components such as zinc (ZDDP) ash, etc. like other competing products
Protects new seals and permanently restores older seals to a "like-new" condition, without adverse side effects.
Also for use in manuals that require ATF

So far it is working as advertised and making the transmission drive ten times better than before.

Note: Honda DW-1 has cleaners already mixed into the oil but Lube Guard improves DW-1 with friction modifiers, therefore better shifting. I also haven`t lost performance when I added this supplement to the tranny. For 14 bucks it really worked. Also it is approved for Acura transmissions.

Follow the directions and put 7-8 oz where you fill your transmission while the car is running in park.

If your transmission is throwing codes this might work. But?

Good luck man but those additives might wear out soon and the tranny will slowly start acting like it was before. Have you tried a drain and fill ?

Haven`t done a drain and fill.

I`m not a fan of additives, but if it is on the way out it really can`t hurt it. Transmission is only 6 months old and under warranty.

You might want to be careful doing that. Sometimes the manufacturer will pull a fast one and try to tell you doing that voids the warranty. I would give them a call before you do anything.

I would definitely go after the warranty, Like Yikes mentioned they will pull a fast one. If you go to the shop make sure not to mention anything about you putting anything in the transmission they will void it. Whats the condition of the fluid? red, brown or black
