transmission

k heres what i got.

i have an 03 acura tl-p with 90k on the clock. i drive alot. would this be covered under the transmission deal with acura. cuz i called and they said that was with the 02's. just wanted to see if mine would be covered. they said it had a 2nd gear recall and that it was checked out and that when it had been brought in it was fine. and that my tranny was not covered under any extended acura warranty. told me 4yrs or 50k. lmk if there is truth in this or if i should call acura

The tranny warranty is to 109K or 76 months I think..
Go to www.acura.com and go to the Owner's Link and register your car to see if it qualifies.
The 2nd gear and oil jet kit is something different than the actual fail.

register on www.acura.com owner experience by VIN number- thats the warranty computer and will show the oil jet recall was done and when- and if the extended warranty covers you- some early 03s were included- and some members with 03 trans failure have been able to get coverage from Acura- they know it wasnt fixed- they just needed a cutoff number so they picked one!

Also call Acura 1-800-382-2238 x5 6a-5p pacific time
tell them you want to register as new owner and check cars history
any outstanding recalls or service notes?
They will know all

When the oil jet was done they stuck a boroscope inside to check for damage from low oiling- if no damge present- install kit- if damaged- replace trans

That is not the problem we face- bad clutch pack in 3rd gear is the culprit

k ill take it tomm first thing then. when i bought the car i got an extended warranty so i know im safe. i just want acura to pay for it if it does go out so they can refund me my money. if not it still comes out significantly cheaper than a new tranny. thanks 01

Its a lot more hassle to get them to pay you back for work done elsewhere
Get it to an acura dealer and let them handle the paperwork for whoever is paying

i got it from the dealership. so the extended warranty is with the actual acura dealership here in houston. i just dont want them to tell me to bad so sad you have to pay when i know people have gotten them replaced. and they even state on acura.com that it stems all the way to early 04's

sounds like the dealer is trying to shaft you.

My third tranny was replaced @ 126K miles I think, was in the 120's. They fixed it for free then too, good will or something.
