Post Transmission

My transmission is acting a little weird lately. It shifts harder, and doesnt downshift very much (only if I give a considerable more amount of gas). I wanted to change the oil and see what happens. Can anyone tell me exactly what I need and how I would do it? Thanks

hi, i had the same problem, i thought my tras was bad, it would shift hard into the gears and upshift and downshift really weird, so i took it to the dealer and it turned out to be a bad throttle body, so they replaced it and everything is normal again, have them check it out!!
p.s. my shifter was getting stuck in park too!

Experiencing the same problem, especially noticible when I'm pulling into an intersection, you mash the gas and there is a hesitation....

J83 I read your post and I appreciate it. Thats why I am worried now. Because of what you said, I have been monitoring how my car runs and your right. I think I am going to take it to Park Ave Acura because Rallye will just say everythings ok.

J83, also, if I get a new transmission, (which I really dont want to) what will be the long term effects that could possibly arise? I have heard that sometimes you will have the same problem over again and also, will they give me a rebuilt or new transmission? Is it REALLY worth it?

in the meantime dont drive it around( i mean just leave it parked) until you get it down there, cause right now the gears shifting should harsh soon when you just accelerate its gonna feel like theres brakes applied to it(when your not even touching the brakes) and then silence, your car is in dead stop dont move at all engines still running though. you can even try pushin the car from the back it wont move at all, itll feel like the car is parked and your tryin to move it!... this is the nightmare i went through when my tranny stopped,
but its not your fault its the acuras, they installed that faulty temperature thingee...
now thats the cause of it!(make sure you tell that to whichever dealership you go to)
good luck..
