Do not use anything but Honda approved fluid. Honda/Acura trannys are very tempermental with fluids. I've heard people having problems running non-Honda tranny fluid.

Hi all:
Agreed with the guys, however according to the op. manual, you can temporary use Dexron M3-ATF but only in case of emergency,
I would not recommended anything else except Honda ATF-Z1.
BTW, just drained and refill 3 qt of ATF-Z1 and noticed it shifting is much more easier than original oil.
2K3 TLS with 17.5k miles.
Take care guys

Thank you , Guys! I just called the dealer, they ask $5.99 for a quart. Is it a fair price? Mobil 1 is only $4.99 at Autozone. Anyway, if Z1 is only good fluid for the ATF, I better get them.

If you ever have a transmission failure, the service manual states that the first thing Acura is to check is that the trans fluid is the ATF Z1. If you use another type of trans fluid then you just gave Acura an excuse not to cover your transmission under warantee.
