DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF USING THE AUTOSTICK VS. NOT USING IT HELPS WITH TRANS LIFE? CAR SEEMS FINE AND I LOVE IT SO FAR (REPLACED MY 91 LEGEND LS COUPE WITH 250K ) DOES ANYBODY RECOMEMD A TRANS FLUID OR FIX THAT HELPS TO KEEP THESE FROM A MELT DOWN ?

Let me be the first to welcome you..and secondly, please type with the "Caps Lock" off. When typing in all caps..it's pretty annoying..and seems like you are yelling.

Secondly, this topic has already been beaten to death..search next time.

Forgot to add that a tranny cooler might help the tranny problem..but don't expect it to make a bad tranny into a good tranny.

Here's a link to a B&M Tranny Cooler http://www.jcwhitney.com/webapp/wcs/...-1&PID=1412752

Check the service records on your car and see how many times the tranny has or has not been replaced already. Check to see if your car was in the extended warranty campaign -- 7yr/100k.

Why didn't you research the car BEFORE you bought it??@#!@#

Peter... your point is - Don't buy if the VIN is in defective range?

I'm planning to buy one, so I need all the advise I can get.

My 2002 TL-S is now on Tranny #5 and I almost never use the "Autostick" mode. This last unit has lasted 11 months so far and I am feeling good that it will make it until August which is the end of my lease.

If your 02 is still on it's original trans then it is a good bet that you have a good one. Some of the replacement units I received only lasted 1 month.
