There is a spin-on filter located on the top of the trans.
See here for replacement instructions.

There are also solenoid screens which can be cleaned.

Good luck.

Hey I just recently did this myself, and tranny seems much smoother

I wrote some tips on replacing it in the last page of this thread:

It's a pretty simple job. Good luck!

Take the time to pull out the solenoids on the trans and clean the screens off when changing the filter.

Just speaking with a general knowledge of cars, but I believe driving through all gears would be the same as going through them manually with the shifter. Also it wouldn't hurt to keep it in neutral for a couple of minutes. I never actually made it a point to drive through each gear individually; I just continued with daily driving which included highway speeds and stop and go traffic. The fluid replacement is the important part, I wouldn't over think it

The transmission does the exact same thing either way. If you manually shift I suppose you could be certain that you went through all the gears. Either way what you are doing is flushing the old fluid from the clutch packs and all the passages that lead to them.
