tranny swap.
right now i have money for comptech headers, comptech strut bar, mugen wing, comptech icebox, comptech tie down, comptech oil cap, and still have a lot of $ left over after that.
do u think its worth to get all that. or just go for a cl type-s 6-speed conversion. i got quoted $6000. unless i can find a cheaper tranny from a totalled cl. what should i do??
anyone know where i can find parts off a totalled car??

Supercharger
I Vote Supercharger.......
It makes no sense to put $6k into a tl-s if you really want a 6 speed that bad get the CL or if speed is your thing I say get a 350Z The Best Bang For Your Buck!

I agree with notstr8. Why put 6k into a TLS just for a tranny swap? I would trade for a G35 coupe or 350. If you want to keep the TL, get a body kit, spoiler, intake, headers, exhaust, springs, and something else.

aite..the only problem is....if i do the supercharger, who will warranty my tranny (the automatic) ??????
i dont think the dealerships in atlanta would. would i have to ship my car to another dealer and have it installed?

if you do the tranny conversion, kiss your warranty goodbye too. plus the warranty on the rest of your mechanical parts too i'd imagine.
even if its still from acura, no way they'd warranty a tranny swap.

I agree with the last few posts.... don't do a swap.. it's not worth it. I also think that $6,000 is an optimistic number. There are many things you need to do other then swapping the tranny. What about the removal of the VSA and the addition of a LSD? Remember that the 6speed CL doesn't have VSA which is why the engine layout is slightly different in the 6-speed (hence the 6-speed only version of headers and CAI). In addition to that obstacle, you'd probably also need to swap the ECU. With that said I need to repeat that $6K is VERY optimistic.
I'd spend the money that's actually going to improve your 1/4 mile... something like the S/C or the 3.5L upgrade. Actually, since you have so much money I'd sell the TL-S and buy an M3.....
