Tranny ready to go???????

OK, last night driving normally, my check engine light and TCS light came on at the same time. figured its probably the O2 sensor at 107K miles, but wondered about the TCS light. once i shut the car off and turned it back on, it was just the check engine light on. took the car to OZone today and scanned it...code was P0740 - malfunction in electric circuit for torque converter. i havent noticed any slipping,....maybe a little during hard acceleration in VTEC, but i dont think its slippage as oppesed to more acceleration. anyway, i did a search on the forum, and got maybe two answers - clear the codes and hope they dont come back, or replace tranny. what i was looking for was anyone who's had this happen and what did they do to fix it and is this part of the recall?? i cleared the codes, drove for like 5 miles so far, no lights yet. i am also over 100k miles, am i no longer covered under the trany recall? oil jet kit was done by previous owner. i checked the tranny fluid, and it was a bit brown, im gonna get it flushed this weekend- will this possibly solve my problem? i just want to know if anyone has had this and how they got around it. thanks guys.

i havent seen that code yet. its not part of the recall. the recall was only for the oiljet kit to be installed. if it comes back bring it to the dealer. if it is a bad tranny you may get goodwilled into a new one. i got onw at 115k for free

Another tranny bites the dust......

Tranny just shit the bed tonight. I made an appointment with acura to get it diagnosed for sept 3rd, and it crapped out on me tonight. Reverse has a delayed engagement, slipping in second, jerking in shifting, its cooked. gonna see if i can get it in there tomorrow. first one to go at 107k. should be a free replacement right??

car is at acura, they're gonna let me know if they can warranty the tranny on monday. hopefully i'll get goodwilled into a new one. you guys think i should get rid of her? i love her, but do want an 03-S or an 04. dunno what to do. still owe a bit on her and shes got 107k. need to do timing belt also...gonna do that myself. they gave me a mazda 6 cuz i couldnt get a car from them because i had to be 25, and that thing sucks. no balls whatsoever. anyway, pray for me guys thet i'll get a new tranny on monday. by the way, do they put a brand new tranny in it? or is it a rebiult, used, etc?? and do the replacements have the same problem? or did they fix it? lemme know...

thanks
