Tranny problem

I'm starting to notice that when i'm on the highway and I floor the car going around 55-60 mph the rpm's rev to about 5500-6000 rpm and the car does not accelerate for a few second's. Is this a sign of the tranny starting to go? If so, when it gets worse what else does it do?

I'm starting to notice those symtoms on my ride. I'm taking in the dealer next week. My questions is at this stage of the game, with all the trannys Acura has replaced....Will my new tranny give have me as good as new, or should I expect the same thing to happen is 20K miles or so?
