tranny problem

can anyone identify what's wrong?
feels like transmission slips from 1-2 & 2-3, depending on the rate of acceleration. sometimes it feels like a manual tranny going from 1-3. other times the car jerks 2 or 3 times rapidly before properly accelerating.
i'm bringing in the car tomorrow but was just curious anyway.

Re: tranny problem

I have the same problem with my '99. I took mine to the dealer for an inspection. They drove it around and told me it was fine. Perfectly normal compared to other cars with similar mileage.

Damn, the worst thing that I want to hear......

tranny problems......

I can live with the $hitty paint, and I can live with the fact that they do cut coners here and there on our car. But not the tranny...

I want to build my engine and now I am afriad that the tranny will go before my engine blow up... (know on wood)!!!

My tranny don't slip, but it sometimes won't shift from 2-3...

I had the same problem in my TLS with 9500 miles on it. Sometimes it felt like it was holding onto the gear a little too long before slamming into the next, other times it felt like it was slipping, usually in the lower gears like you described. Other times, while driving down the road at about 45, when I would punch it to pass, the engine would rev but the tranny wouldn't shift and the revs would drop back down and I would stay in whatever gear I was already in.

Anyway, my problem became worse and worse until finally the car became immobile just as I pulled up in front of my service center. They tried replacing the transmission shift sensor but that didn't work. Now, I'm waiting for a whole new transmission to be put in.

I hope your is an easier fix. Good luck.

Yep, same problem. Dealer keeps telling me it's fine. My wife met with the Southeastern Acura Rep on Friday and they pulled all are invoices detailing the problem. They are going to review the problem and get back with me. The Rep was very nice and assured my wife that they will look into it. The Rep said it may be the ECU as they have had a few of them go out on some other models. I will keep all of you abreast of the situation. I still believe in the Honda / Acura Motor Corp and anxiously await their response. Our previous Honda product was an excellent car and on more than one occasion, they replaced things out of warranty, because in thier opinion it should not have gone bad.
