tranny level

i asked the same question in another thread but i think it deserves its own thread.

what's the level of our tranny? what exactly is a level and how do you characterize it? why a higher level tranny is better? in what way?

Transmission aren't really described as being at any "level." The Level 10 mods you have been reading about refers to a company called "Level 10" (www.levelten.com) which builds high performance transmissions and components. They provide anything from torque converters to complete transmissions for the TL as well as most other popular applications.

You're not alone - when I first heard of "Level 10" transmissions I wondered the same thing, until I learned that Level 10 is a company.
