Tranny gunk
Tranny gunk
Here's what the transmission drain plug looks like after 19,634 miles. I wasn't planning on changing my tranny fluid till closer to 30K miles but since I had some free time and a few bottles of ATF lying around I decided to change the fluid a little early.
Picture on the right is after cleaning the gunk that is really metal shavings stuck to the magnetic part of the drain plug. Makes you wonder why we don't have a tranny filter. I think I'll be having shorter change intervals from now on.
