Tranny going

This car STINKS, I got my TLS last Sept and my Tranny is slipping and the car is studdering at low speeds. What gets me is at high speeds it feel and purs good but at low speed forget. I see a BMW or MB ( CLK ) in the near future because this car is history.

Rolex boy,

That is truly dissappointing and I am sorry for your pain. What gets me is everybody *****es on this forum about their tranny when they should be writing letters and placing calls to Acura Corporate. If this is as bad as everybody is saying it is well then the bad tranny folks should come together and raise hell at the corporate level. (the dealer could give a rats ass)

I just got mine a week and a half ago and if this happens to me I will raise so much hell at the dealer they will run to Acura for help. I would review every legal option you have and pursue this with an attorney - an experienced one who will tell you what leverage you have.

I would look for some type of settlement or refund(not just damages and waste of time). My wife's QX4 came with a lemon law brochure in the deal jacket. See if Acura has the same. This whole tranny issue blows and quite frankly they (Acura) should not have produced this car if they were premature with transmission technology- (Build,TEST, Deliver) Good Luck!!

Uh...and what makes you think we haven't been down those roads Day Type S...if you search the threads you will see many of us have been thru hell and back with Acura Corp (duh, what tranny problems?) dealers and dealership business managers and Acura reps out the yin yang...each with a different experience...mostly negative. The Delaership actually ended up treating me better than Acura Rep when they bought mine back. And...the Lemon Laws take MUCH patience and time to maneuver through to finally get settlement, often less than wholesale value of the car. I don't know who has that much free time on their hands...I was using all I had just dealing with trying to get the car operational. Fortunately all of the yelling and screaming paid off. I used this board to share my experiences so that others may benefit if in a similar situation.

yahhh- your right GaryLee although i never hear of any success stories related to resolution of the problem except a rebuilt tranny- sooo... I was glad to hear you made some way with Acura. If my memory serves me correct you bought the new G35

How is it-- I can only imagine its nice-

I guess it frustrates me to know a reputable car company would produce a nice car like the TLS and have so many tranny failures.

Whatever you drive enjoy it!!

I was very dissapointed when my tranny went out not too long ago. When I finally got back my car (3 weeks later) I thought that all the problems were behind me.. Just this week my check engine light and VSA light come on and stay on. I am very mad at this whole situation. One thing is for sure there are a couple of dealers that are much closer to me than the one I bought from, but I insist to take my car back for any problem back to the original dealer. Sometimes I wish I should have listened to some friends and just bought an Accord-EX V-6, saved thousands of dollars, weeks of not having my car running, lower insurance, and most of all reliability. Yes, I do know that there are some of you, the lucky ones, that have no problems with your TLS. I wish I didn't have to play Russian Roulette with Acura because I lost.

Guys, if you want ACTION and to get the attention of Acura, you need to do two things:

1. Forget the lone wolf approach, there is power in numbers. The drive here to have people record their VINs and tranny complaints is awesome, you just now need to get this in a formal letter listing everyone's compliants so you can mail it to people.

2. The people you mail this letter to are the people at Acura HQ AND you cc: EVERY letter to your state's Attorney General's office, the BBB, and even Consumer Reports. Any and everyone who can make Acura's life miserable and FORCE them to answer complaints and questions.

This *WILL* get the attention of Acura, believe me, and the attitudes everyone has been getting will change dramatically.

Works for me every time...

I gave all this info from the forum to the Acura Rep and the Business Manager of the dealership...their response was, "Now you don't believe everything you read on the Internet, do you?" I've written Letters to the Editor of several automobile and consumer magazines, and have filed a report with the NHTSA...

Even the all mighty and powerful BMW is having problems.. and they're bigger then our tranny issues....

Have a read about the 16th engine failure. While that's not as many as trannies... they could catch up...

I noticed my TL doing the studdering at slow speed thing last weekend. I hope it was just because of the weather change. It also did a strange shift once and lost lots of rpm while coasting.

Hey guys, I might be having some tranny probs myself, need advice

I just got my TL-S on March and just two weeks ago I noticed that my car's shifting (while stopped) from R to D is sort of clunky and loud for a luxury car. It drives well but sometimes I realize the car (while shifting) loses a few hundred RPMs...too many for a luxury car if I may add. Anyone had these kinda probs before the tranny went off on you?....please let me know fellow TLians....

I had a problem when shifting into park from any gear while stopped of course, it was a loud clunk - the dealer fixed it and told me it was just some cable that needed to be adjusted. Not sure about that but the problem is gone.

I discovered there are many negative reports in the online BBBs across the country against Honda/Acura. They have lots of unresolved issues, or issues that were never responded to at all.
