Tranny flush or drain and re-fill (03 TL-S)
I have an 03 TL-S with 102K on it..........I am getting ready to do the 105K service (plus some extras)......I have read the board and there appears to be some debate as to whether or not these trannys should be flushed or just drained and re-filled. Based on what I have read, it appears that the concensus is that the older trannys should not be flushed........however, seeing as I have an 03 (supposedly the newer/"better" tranny) should I still just drain and fill like the older trannys or should I do a full flush? If it is a simple drain and fill I am going to do it myself, but if it is a flush, I am going to take it to the Acura dealer and let him mess with it (yes, I know I can just drain and fill several times during the next few oil changes, but I don't want to mess with that).
Thoughts/suggestions?

What kind of condition is your fluid in now? If it's really dark/dirty/smelly then I would do the 3X3 drain/fil.
If it's pink/redish and smells clean, then I would do it once, and continue to do it every 10k.

honda recommends against flushing period. Just a simple drain fill is all thats needed.

no flushing- in a power machine sense of the word.
Acura used that word to describe the 3x3 method in the owner book.
If you are going to do it, do it right-
that little bit at a time method is garbage and not healthy for the oil. Would you change 1 qt of engine oil every 3 months and think that was good enough?
If you have an 03 and believe the trans was improved- you have not read the trans failure thread. They were not any better, 04 was no better , now the 05s are dropping faster than ours did.....
There is a real probability that changing the fluid would cause its demise soon.
Complain about trans slipping and slow to engage before paying for fluid change.
You may go home with a fresh transmission and new fluid for free!!!

Hi, ALL HONDAS NO FLUSH!!! and use honda atfz1 ONLY!
its a basic honda fact, just d+f 2 or 3 times, i like to do mine every other oil change. also the TLs have no cooler lines (except 99) so if you pay for a flush they probly will d+f it and charge you for a flush.

Three Wheelin'
So my tranny fluid is white&silver. Thoughts?
Got the new tranny in about 1-1.5 years ago, and have since put on about 30k.
When does acura say to change the tranny fluid?
