Tranny fluid
Hey guys wasup.i got a 2000 TL with about 84k. I got my tranny replaced back in Dec and got the car back in Jan. The last 1-2 weeks, the tranny felt like it was going to die. I thought it was the Tranny itself that got mest up, but i was like wtf?...i just got it replaced like 2 months ago, that cant be it. SO i check the fluid, and guess what...THeres like no fluid in there, i mean there was some..but it was like at the very very end of the dipstick. So im thinking that is what is making my tranny act all weird. Im wondering how that can happen. there are no leaks or nothin so it has to be the dealer, because they were the ones who replaced it. I got an appt on Fri the 12th and im going to take it in. U guys think the tranny itself probally got dammaged? If thats the case...there going to have to either rebuild it or replace it right? And im afraid if i add some tranny fluid, they might be like becuase u didnt put in the Honda Tranny fuild that is for ur car, thats why its mest up, and we cant raplace it?...i DUnno if i should put in some fluid..or just not drive it till the 12th?
i wouldnt have called to make an appt. i would have driven it in there to show them right away and i would also want to make sure that if the tranny does die (after the warranty expires at 100k) that there would be a reassurance that the thing would be covered due to the lack of fluid all this time
How are you checking it? The TL is a little different than any other car I've had, in that you have to check the tranny fluid with the car off. The reading won't be valid if you check it with the engine running.
