Has anyone here tried changing the Automatic Tranny Filter on an 02 TL or TL-S?
Will that help with the Tranny issues on our vehicles?

I know Acura says there is no servicible filter, but there is. I have an Odyssey as well and on both vehicles, there is an ATF filter about 4 inches down (toward the front of vehicle) and about 1 to 2 inches to the right of the ATF filler bolt. It's a black cylinder.

Both Honda and Acura service departments either intentional deny its existence or they are completely ignorant of the fact that there is one. It is an orderable part.

I'm just wondering if it's worth the effort.

you have to completley disassemble the tranny, there is no tranny pan.. which is the same work as a rebuild. not worth it..

It will not help prevent your tranny from going out. It's a defective 3rd gear clutch pack. Short of a new designed tranny there is nothing you can do to stop it from burning out. The question about our tranny's is when they will go out. Some are going out faster than others. Some owners have almost 100k on the original tranny while others went through several over a few thousand miles. So it's just like the lotto. Luck of the draw.

Go to the SystemName\Component labeled "5AT ATF Warmer-Speed Sensor"
Look at the diagram, specifically part #9!

It is a filter screwed onto the Tranny housing and held on by two bolts.

Its a servicable filter but it wont help. I cut mine open and it wasnt that bad. Debris isnt the cause of the failure.
