Tranny #2 is dead

I was pulling out of the building's garage and noticed that the car just didn't feel right. It felt like I was starting in 2nd gear- and the engine lugged at idle. I take the onramp onto the 408 eastbound and the car sticks in 2nd gear. After several seconds - hoping the car will upshift the lights on the dash come alive. D5 is blinking, Check Engine, VSA, and the "!" light.

I immediately got off and took the sidestreets tothe dealer. People were looking at me funny because I'm doing 40-45 mph in 2nd gear!

Luckily the dealership was still open and they gave me a rental. I'm now in a Chevy Trailblazer with a 4.6 L V-6 engine. That thing can't get out of its own way! I feel like I'm driving a building! It's kinda cool, through - very different.

Tranny 2

BTW - no ETA on replacement date yet. I'll get that tomorrow - they put 3 days on my rental car, and the rental car guy said they were doing A LOT of them and they had them in stock. We'll see...

4.2L I6, actually. 270 hp. Pretty peppy, but obviously no Ferrari. It's an SUV, what do you expect?

That sucks about the transmission. Sorry to hear that.

You're right. I posted that as soon as I got home - I had just opened the hood to see the emissions sticker. Most of the engine is quite covered with "stuff".

It's always cool to drive a vehicle that's so different for a while. I know getting back to the Type S will be different as well.

It's a nice change of pace.

No. I guess it all ends well though - a new tranny and the oil jet kit from day one.

This could all be much worse than it is.

Second tranmission? How much miles do you have in your car?

One more then it steps into the lemon territory.

42k. I bought it in June 2001. I don't think I'm in lemon territory because of the time.
