Track times ... pretty impressive ... woot !!!

2002 TL type S

100 % Stock - Track conditions were horrid ... 88 degrees and 85% humidity (if i remember correctly)

60' = 2.28 .. for some reason i dont understand why you guys have a hard time breaking 2.4
1/4 = 15.17@92

Ill grab the slips from my car in a lil

The first run i had was horrendous ... 16.4@ 90.8mph hahaha .... i sat and spun to 330' and hit 75 before it came back down and i actually moved. But then again that was my first time ever runnig at the track with this car

I feel the car is capable of beraking a 14.9 stock .. just gotta figure out exactly where to rbeak boost it

I read somewhere that redline is at 7500 in first .... ummmm i dont know what that guy is smoking but when i gate shifted out of first the max i could hit was 7250 .. (in regards to the thread where the guy hit 15.107)

No offense, but those track times are not that impressive. People have been able to do 14.7-14.8s stock in their TL-Ss. However, considering the temp and humidity, id expect you to be in the 14s with better conditions. Our engines really dont like hot weather.

I ran a 15.2@92mph stock. 77 degrees, near 100% humidity, approximately 700 feet above sea level.

15.17 is right on par with average times of other cars -- nothing impressive, but not disappointing, either.

HA! I wish I could run a 15. Best out of my car so far is 16.8, BUT haven't tried the sport shift thing yet. These were all run in auto mode at 5800' above sea level. You guys near sea level must be loving it.

a 1999 TL-P should run around 15.6 sec, a 2000+ TL-P should do around 15.2...

a TL-S should do anywhere between 14.6 and 15.

considering it was pretty hot and humid i guess your time is not too bad!

idiot? fuck you. i guess YOU are the one who doesnt know shit. and even tho i wouldve been wrong that does not give you the right to call me names.

99 TL have 4 speed transmission, 00+ have 5 speed so they are quicker off the line (improved 0-60 and 1/4 times). i know 00+ is faster cuz i drove one, and if you check out www.car-stats.com it will confirm my statement.

hurley did you do all the right prep before you went to the track, lower psi on the front tires, 1/8 tank, etc. They might help your times a bit.

99 TLs with the 4 speed auto are ALOT slower than the 2000 models with the 5 speed auto. It considerably helped acceleration times.

Those are decent times considering the temp and humidity.

Mine ran 14.9 fairly consistently when it was stock (and better conditions than you were running with).

Now - go get those headers, intake, and pulleys and be down in the 14.4's with the rest of us modders!
