Exclamation Track Results...

Well, no worthwhile mods, just went cause a bunch of friends from Atlanta did.

I ran 15.68 and 15.69 with sportshift and 25 psi in the tires. It was about 60° and it had rained the previous day, so it was a little moist out.

W/o sportshift I ran 15.7, 15.8, and 15.9

All my 60' times were 2.4xx

I was pleasantly surprised because last time I was at the track I ran 16.0, 16.1, and 16.4 with just an intake.

All I have done is drop it, and added an exhaust, and now my times are 15.6...

Prolly mostly the weather.

I thought using the sportshift would be slower since it is nearly impossible to be as accurate as a computer when in regular drive.

oh yea, what is the recommended tire pressure for the stock tires? Cuz 25psi seems kinda low to me.

Thumbs down

first of all, the computer does not shift at redline. It shifts right before it at around 6100 rpm. Second, you are supposed to lower your tire pressure at the track to get faster times.

You also run on 18's correct? This of course would slow you down, which goes to show your mods helped you even more than you think.

Rice, I didn't know that...Sh*t when I ran 13.99 I used Auto, next time I'll use the SS.... Dam I wish I knew that before, thanx! I'll try it next time.

3.2TL,
We lower the tire pressure to get the tires to bite(grip)...

suspension definitely matters, esp for a front drive car where you want the weight in the front of the car so it doesn't squat.

I believe he put on his 16's for the track.

+2 should cause a .2-.3 increase in 1/4 time. I've yet to understand why everyone runs them on the streets. Thats another grand that could go into performace mods. Oh well...

Because, while I do enjoy performance mods, our TLs aren't race cars.

I slept on one of the reaction's I got a 1.4 hahhahahah

Most of the others were okay. I didn't want to redlight though, I'd rather have a slower reaction so I got a couple of straight .8xx's.

Exclamation

Oddly enough my best time was my first run, and that was before I had lowered tire pressures, or heated up the air in the tires... kinda makes you think.

Here's a pic of me runnin a GSR w/ Boltons

As you can see, with my stock 16"s back on.

I ran against some monster domestic, he got some 13.x

Won against a 5th gen Accord with Prelude H22A swap.

Won against a GSR with bolton's...

Civic Si with bolton's... (hahaahh take that ClubSi Atlanta!)

I'd like to know how Motor Trend ran a 15.2 in a 2000 TL!! I guess they don't take reaction time into account... That means that Kenny was really around 14.8!!!!

R/t doesn't have anything to do with your E/t- elapsed time.

I dont know why you would want to race me. I drive a first generation Acura Legend coupe, as far as I'm concerned the most solid and overengineered car Acura has ever built. Sooner than later I'll be the proud owner of either a LS1 Z28, or a MR2 Turbo with a T78. If you'd like to race me then in with my stock diameter wheels I'll be happy to meet up. I've seen your car around town, and I'll be the first to admit it looks great.

Although I'd love to think that, stock 1999's usually hit about 15.9's stock, or worse, unless someone can more or less show otherwise.

That time is prolly dead on. I would guess that I'd hang with a stock 2000 in the 1/4.

That 3rd gear is a killer, I'm at 5000 rpm when I end. that's 90 mph and I'm almost peakin out that gear after I finish...

Reaching 6200 at 95 mph would be ideal, finish the traps at perfect rpm.

I didn't think that the newer tranny made that big of a difference. When we raced on the highway I'd say you beat me. You outran that cop!!!
