towin capability

hey....just picked up a '01 TL and had a quick question. I also own a '00 yamaha R6 and plan goin maybe takin some trips.....do you guys think that a TL would be able to tow the bike? The bike roughly weighs 330lb.....also would this affect the gas milage drastically? Thanks

absolutely you can tow that. ya youll probably get better mileage because youll have to drive much more conservatively. Even my sisses little toyota celica has a towing rating at 1k or 1.5k lbs. I think the TL's rating is 1.5k lbs.

And the hitch. That'll affect the stance and maybe cause problems with aftermarket suspension.

You should probably look into how easy it is to install and remove the hitch. You wouldn't wanna ruin the lines of the TL with an ugly hitch on all the time.

sweet....my TL is bone stock right now....so should I still worry about the suspension? yea I will see about the difficulty of removin and puttin on the hitch....but hey I am going to have a sexy R6 on the trailer :-D thanks for the info

all factory, no problems... be carefull of the scratching and like everyone else said the hitch...

the hitches for the TL is receiver/hitch combo that is hidden when you dont have the hitch attached. The wiring will probably be more difficult then the actual hitch install. you'll probably need a 6 to 4 way converter because we have amber turn signals.

The Class I (2,000lb.) hitch I saw on line (Valley) requires drilling through the spare tire floor if you want to go that far. Remember to balance the trailer so there's only a 10% tongue weight of the total weight of the load.

you wont even know that you have that behind you. i have done lots of towing of fishing boats, jetskis and have even towed my malibu ski boat also
