topped my car out this morning....

I was bored this morning (couldnt sleep) so i went for a ride... i was on an empty, straight road and no one was around (5:30 AM) so i figured i could test my car...

final result: 243kph (152mph).. im pretty sure the car couldve reached a bit higher than that but i didnt wanna push it too much... i'll do it another morning

Well I topped out at 155mph, but I would never in my mind take a hand off the wheel to take a picture. And I will most certainly not be doing that again.... I did 155, saw God, and called it quits. Besides, my car is too old for all that. hehe. Good job though Justin!

HOLY S!! Haha you still had 1000 revs to go. I wish I had a 2G or 3G TL now. I topped out my 96 2.5 TL on highway 16A between Hinton and Edmonton at night, I got up to 214km/h, and then wind resistance > me. I still had a few thousand revs to go if I remember. Just my little 2.5 ran out of pull. Now that I think about it, it was a bad idea cause there were probably deer in the bushes!

By the way, you are teh for taking pics at that speed!

shiet! Was your stearing wheel shaking rapidly or was it smooth sailing? I got mine up to 145 MPH on stockers and the shiet felt like a wheel was falling off!

stock tires??? You guys need to remember the speed ratings for the tires you are using - a blow out at those speeds would be...ummm deadly.

Other than that, when I did 130mph, it was smooth just like I was going 80mph

Better you than me.

I had it up to 147 mph a few years ago but haven't been anywhere near that since. The most is probably like @130 mph for a short burst or racing once in a while.

BTW, just be careful.

Nice pic. nice to know are cars are capable of these speeds.

There is no rush greater than driving @ 130+mph (130-150 honestly feels the same). The good thing is that if you crash, there will be no pain.......only death.......unlike if you crashed @ 50-70mph......where there'd be alot of pain and you'd probably wish for death.

That's a great way to justify those speeds on a public road

Nice. 3 more MPH and your rev limiter would of kicked in. I topped out also a few weeks ago. It was a smooth sailing.

I wish I could say "doode, your only 18... slow down a bit" but I have been doing the same since I got my license... Thanks for keeping it "safe" by doing it in a reasonably accepted road and conditions....
