ummm no...unless you want to use it as a coaster. you need a supercharger for the boost to begin with...where do you think you could put that on a stock engine???

Yes, but you need to go to Autozone and purchase 3 gallons of boost fluid in order for it to work.

Well, technically you can install the pulley, afterall it is only a replacement alternator pulley but there just wouldn't be anywhere to install the 2nd belt w/o a blower

In my case i have a 2003 TL-p and i was in fourth gear and about 500-750 rpms before hitting red line and it cut me off like at 153ish never got to the 155mph and i did it more then once. any reason why it would cut me off sooner then 155mph? all i have is a CAI and it took me a while to get up to them speeds...

Technically the speed limiter is 147 MPH. No reason why you should have expected to reach 155 MPH

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ghlight=153mph

It also proves that type-S and 02+tl-p actually HAVE a governor at 147, while us 99(etxx+@cur@)-01(fttsy) dont have a governor

THE BAD AND DANGEROUS:
did you know your have r-rated tires? = 149mph...even though tires are BY LAW supossed to last 1hour under their max load, its damm dangerous to go over = blow, or disform the tires...you => V8 juice on winshield

i'll might go out sometime and rev 5800-6000 on my fourth...but with a videocamera stuck to my head!

there NO electronic limiter as far as 99-01TL, we dont have a story from an 02-03tl-p so we dont know. we DO know that type-S are limited at 147mph

in any event the bigger the tire diameter = slower tac reading
^^common sense really...same as the limiter having nothing to do with your rim size my friend

Hate to rain on yout parade, but you should know the correct conversion:

MPH x .6 = KPH

or to be more technical:

MPH x .62 = KPH

So that looks to be either 147mph or 150mph depending on how you conver, not 152 as you state. Bet it was fun either way.

MPH * 1.6092 = KPH

151 * 1.6092 = 243

the car went up to 152 after i took the pic.

We're about on the same page. Euro mags always do 0-100kmh tests, which are equivalent to 0-62mph. According to your calc, they're doing 0-99.77kmh tests.

That is insane!!!! I am dieing to try it. None of my business @cUr@-TL but you can only spin the cylinder so many times and pull the trigger before the gun goes off. It seems you are on a semi-regular basis busting the 140 mark and at that speed you are not gonna fair too well if something goes wrong.....

Just something to think about now that you have found the limits. Maybe I am just gettting old..... but do think about the consequences before you put it all out there too many times.

Even if the road is clear and there are no other cars in sight, something we have to worry about are deer who like to appear from the tree line. Four of the cars we've owned have had such encounters. From no damage to the one that landed on the hood and hooves came through the windshield.

you are not getting old, you are realistic

i cant help to drive fast, i have the need for speed and i know chances are i'll end up dead cuz of it.. but.. you know.. im young and careless...

but now that i know what my car is capable of i'll lay low for while (until i get a new engine mod)...

okay

WE all take risks....but more than one for a reason deamed unecessary by a previous risk is just plain ignorance......but ignorance is bliss right.??

What i mean is now you shouldn't risk it anymore, you have braggin rights so when some dude in his civic wants to race or is like "dude how fast can u go" ...you just laugh at him and flick your shades and drive off.
Sure you would like to teach them a lesson or two, but it ain't worth it ....

I feel the need for speed, and on some day out in the middle of nowhere(really) at 9am on a tuesday i was going 110mph and i let off just cause...and one minute later there was a fricken trooper and i was going 60mph...luckily!

I think Mike is right about the external dangers. I was thinking about the risks as I drove home last night and thought about race car drivers that regularly travel in speeds of 200+ mph, with relative safety. I was thinking about why that made any sense and in the end decided that they have a different scenario. They are driving in a vehicle that is made to travel at those speeds. You mave have some nice mods but seriously that des not make your car anymore ready to travel at those speeds than caulking the windows would make it a submarine. Racers have three point harnesses and roll cages in their cars, special brakes, special tires, and maybe most importantly a controlled environment. they are not going to come up on an unexpected curve (posted at 45 that can only be taken at like 80). they are never going to have a deer run past the grand stand and stop in the middle of the track and even if one of these things does happen they have safety equipment in place to keep them alive.

When I was in my late teens and early 20s I had a real taste for speed. I round a curve at 100+ mph and lost control one time sending myself airborne. My friend said it looked like some kind of movie stunt. He said I flipped like 3 times and when all was said and done I ended up upside down in a huge ditch on the side of the road. It was pure luck that I didnt kill myself or my passengers because the only reason the passenger compartment didnt collapse is that at final position the hood was on one side of the ditch bank and the trink on the other with the top of the car suspended from being crushed. The reason I mention this is that at that time I felt like I realized the danger and maybe I did and just didn't care. It was only months later I got my ticket for 103 in a 55. I had been going much faster but the cop caught me coming around a curve, heehee. My point (as my babbling comes to an end) is that you, like I, are not going to slow down until you are ready, but if you just think about when and where you do it, and why you are doing it, you can at least hedge your bets.

Of course that being said I did wind my car out in 3rd last night (about 110 or so.. i forget) and was about to kick it into 4th when I saw oncoming traffic and got off of it. Good thing to cause the second car in the three car set was the po po.

Just one more thought. I have never driven a vehicle in excess of 120 mph. I have never had one that would do it and still felt like it was stable. Now that I have one that will do 150 I am dieing to try it and see what it feels like but I will not do it until I get new tires and a relatively safe place. My friend that got a ticket for 147 in a 65 said he had extreme tunnel vision and that you couldn't even really concentrate on anything that was not directly ahead because by the time you looked at it, it was past.

What do the people that have broken the 140 mark think about the experience?
