Took a Ride in a new 6-speed Maxima...

...and it was quite fun....
a friend of mine has just put 2100 miles on his new maxima....and we decided to have some fun with it last night....
I must say...the accelleration on the car was quite nice...very quick...and he spun the wheels hard on his 1-2 shift. I could definitely feel the torque difference between his car and my tl-s. Overall I was quite impressed with the car....but the interior was so blah...and the seats were just whatever...but I did notice the back seats were quite roomy with a lot of leg space...

My friend even admitted to me he liked the interior and the comfot of the seats in my car better...and as I told him I was impressed by his car...he asked me if I wanted to trade

Yeah I did notice the torque steer was pretty bad in that car...

As for trading my tls for a maxima? no thanks...
Besides...everytime I think of my commute to downtown Los Angeles in my previous 5 speed vtec lude.....<shudder> :o I love my 5 speed SS even more....

But I have to admit at times I do miss the good ole manual...

haha, don't say it like it's legal in north cal man don't worry, look at my pics, i took them off as well and no problem. mind you i always have to tail in any parking space as well and still never a problem.

i need to go to airport every week and cops look at my car and never asked anything. bottom line is you dont' wanna get pulled over for something else, otherwise they will give you another ticket for the licence plate.

but think about it, just how much nicer it is without the plate. i took off my plate 3 months after i got my car and i felt the pain on the little scratches i got...... i learned it the hard way....

oh one last note, i have done a little survey on the street. a lot of expensive cars, they don't put on the front licence plate (and trust me there are a lot of them in cali), so it's not like we suddenly become all so attractive without the front plate.

oh yeah, like i said, you should. just look at pics around here, those with and without the plates, and you will see how much better the car look without it

i took it off and boy i am not going to put it back (even if i have to pay the ticket)

Volkracing,

whatever you do man, dont leave your car parked in Montclair during the night...those montclair cops are punks. Dude, I had my civic parked at my girls house, on the street without a front plate and when we came back, there was a ticket on the windshield for not having the plate!!! What kind of $hlt is that??

Oh my....you serious?
Well I'm usually parked on my g/f's driveway facing the garage...so I doubt they'd go through that much trouble in ontario but I guess if we go to montclair we taking her car

Eight months ago I never would have thought I would be saying this, but after driving stick my entire life, I can honestly say in the traffic-crammed hellhole they call DC, that I don't miss it one bit.

I usually turn the A/C on put the car in 1st Gear lightly get off the clutch.. the car crawls at 1 mph but the A/C keeps it at 1000 rpms so it doesn't stall.. if you want to go 5 - 10 mph you put it in 2nd ..
