After my wife and I got the TL, I was looking at a GS400 for myself. I couldn't get one in the color I wanted with the 17" rims for over two months.
Got my NSX instead.

260hp, 232 lbs torque (weight?) lowest 0-60 time 6.2
300hp, 310 lbs torque 3800 lbs lowest 0-60 time 5.7
Please do the math.
A tl with all the mods should meet and probably beat a stock GS 4.
And a modded GS will beat a modded tl and so on and so on and so on.......

Id rather own a my tl than to own a big bubble car. The gs is a nice car but the styling does nothing for me . The tl is quite boring aswell until you throw the kit on. I like lexus and I like acura stop all the import hating guys ,unless its a hyundai,kia daewoo. Those are real pieces of ish !!!!

Sorry, guys, but I voted for the GS (I would prefer the 430, though). About the only Lexus line I like is the GS, although all are nice... just not my style.

i raced a gs400 on the highway three times, 70-125, my car was fairly new and we were both stock, i feld pretty good, i was surprised, he pulled like 1 car tops every time. i was happy with my baby.

i wud rather have a Tl. i think that GS is a monstrousity (not sure on spelling). when it first came out, i thought it was hot, but now its just way too bulky. it does not seem stylish at all. the body panels r too thick. it may look better if u lowered it like 3".

I think would much rather have a heavily modded TLS than an expensive big block v8 gs4...I know I could i could tweak it to turn more heads than the Gs, and performance wise its on with res and mmII...all im saying is lexboyz are weak as hell, they cant stand it when someone starts joking on their hokey pokey candy asses...they deleted the one thread that actually meant something to Acura owners, the CLS stomping the gs$00 5 friggen times...Thats weak as hell, and to top it all off they booted my trash talkin ass cuz they think they can say one thing and the whole f-in world stops...get a life, you wanna be rich cant afford a bit@h a$$ ******...Shyne

TL-S is V6 3.2 liter
GS-4 is V8 4.0 liter ....not a good engine comparison...I think
TL-S V6 3.2 liter against GS-3 V6 is better comparison..but when compare to that Type S kills GS-3 easily...
maybe we should get 10 GS4 and 10 TL type S..and go at it on the track..to see the average of the difference...

see city, now that is a good suggestion...that would prove something...no doubt the v-8 is gonna win in a lot of the situations...but its very possible that a heavily modded TLS can kill a gs4 as described on clublexus...Shyne

For the money I'd spend on a GS4, I'd just opt for the C32 AMG. It beats the Lex in every category. Also looks a hell of a lot better. Up until the C32 came out I was set on a GS4, bubble roof or not. I want the performance. But, since the C32, no comparison! Performance, looks, heritage, etc., etc. ....... hands down the best performance sedan on the market in that price range! I will have one in the driveway within the next two years. Sorry Lexus
