When I installed my sub I double layered the dynamat on the entire trunk lid and behind the license plate area of the trunk (the part that doesnt face you when you open the trunk). I also put 3 layers of dynamat directly onto the back of my lisence plate. I didn't dynamat the whole trunk and the only rattle I have from a 10w7 sub is the little microphone for the OnStar under my mirror.

I hear Dynamat isn't all it's cracked up to be, someone told me you can get similar stuff at Home Depot for like 1/5 the cost. I don't have any experience with Dynamat so I'm just repeating what was told to me. As long as my system sounds good to me I don't really care if my spoiler rattles, most of the time I don't have it turned up enough for the spoiler to rattle anyway. If there is a cheap solution to make it not rattle I'll do that, but I'm not losing any sleep over it.

I believe the stuff is called Peel-N-Seal, do a search on it, supposedly it is a comparable substitute

best way to do it is by removing your spoiler, put 2 layers of double sided sticky tape underneath it so it acts like a coushin

for the license plate, just remove it and put a big sponge behind it and problem solved

btw..this is how i did it on my 00 lude and worked very well

PEEL-N-SEAL is a lightweight, resilient, rubber-like adhesive which permanently repairs. Seals breaks - plugs holes. Forms a waterproofing, insulating and vapor barrier. PEEL-N-SEAL comes with a paper backing. It fits in most inaccessible places and can be painted immediately after application with no bleed-through. Use inside or out. Indefinite storage life. Covers 30 lineal feet per roll. Available in 2 1/2" width. Comes in black.

PEEL-N-SEAL Bonds
Pressure sensitive and extremely adhesive ... PEEL-N-SEAL bonds marble, tile, wood, Plexiglas, fiberglass, insulation and metals. You name it! PEEL-N-SEAL does it!

PEEL-N-SEAL Plugs
Use PEEL-N-SEAL to fill pin holes, cracks or slits ... stop leaks in plastic, iron or most any pipe ... swimming pools, vacuum lines.

PEEL-N-SEAL Seals
Use it to caulk seams and cracks in windows and doorways, wall panels, concrete block, seal around ductwork and conduit ... even seal holes in bodies and firewalls of cars, trucks or trailer bodies.

PEEL-N-SEAL Insulates
Use several thicknesses of it to reduce noise and vibration from motors and machinery. Insulate connections and splices in electrical services.

PEEL-N-SEAL Waterproofs
Use it around edges or in seams of concrete slabs. To seal and form a water barrier around foundations or between walls ... gutters and down spouts. Seal ends of cable or conduit against water.

PEEL-N-SEAL Repairs
Use it to fix holes, cracks in walls, seams in storage vessels or walk-in coolers ... refrigeration or air conditioning ductwork ... drain systems, mechanical service piping ... replace loose tile.

so how heavy is the PEEL-N-SEAL? I may try some if it's pretty light weight and fairly inexpensive.

just commenting on the post up there about the Home Depot product, a guy in my town did his trunk with insulation (i believe it was housing insulation) and it was a lot cheaper than dynomat, and there was absolutely no trunk rattle after that...good luck with ur car
