Talking TL Type S vs Miata vs 740 il

This morning I was going to work and on a 210W freeway on ramp. There is a Miata in front of me and a BMW 740 il.

Funny things start happened. The light is still red. Miata want to out run the 740il. The driver in the Miata try to get a head start but find out the light is still red. His car already had a half car length ahead of the BMW. The BMW driver take this very seriously. The moment the light turns green, I can hear he steps on the gas and "voom". Kill the Miata instantly.

Then the guy in the Miata saw me in his mirror. He looked at the mirror and step on the gas. Then I think, "that's it, you find the wrong car to race." I step on my gas and kill the Miata by a great margin.

My main commuter car, a Miata 92 is going to get replaced by the TL-S (hopefully by this week). I am keeping the Miata since this topless go-cart is a blast. It lacks power but it performs well on tight curves.

I am surprised the Miata driver thought he could beat out a BMW! Hell, I don't want to even challenge Suzuki or Hundai

Cool

You have to watch out for the 270 HP miatas! Mine, which most likely is sold (waiting for check) is putting down 270 at the rear wheels with about 265 lbs of torque. Quite the sleeper car and increases the fun factor 200%. Of course this comes at a price (about $12-15K invested) but its been fun.

Now I have to get the wife to allow me to drive the TLS until my SLK comes in.
