Question TL or TSX

Well my parents are looking for a new car for my mom, we have come down to TSX w/ nav and 02-03 TL w/ Navi- most likely Type-S but it wouldn't matter for my mom obviously. Anyways I have been thinkin about it and got nothing, but I am starting to lean towards TSX cause a lot have just come off leases and stuff w/ low miles and its overall smaller and has better gas mileage I think.. Any advice would be appreciated

well your going to get some biased answers since you are in a TL forum. It may be better to take it car talk then you may get some better answers

anyway my vote goes for TSX if its new(since you didnt really specify year). new cars are always a nice thing. otherwise i would go with the TL since its just a much more comfortable car to drive.

TL-S hands down. The MPG ratings are 19/29 (TL-S) and 22/31 (TSX), not a huge difference. No matter how hard I drive my TL, I've never gotten less than 22mpg. The slight amount of gas it will use will be more than made up for because the TL-S has much more usable torque. No need to rev to 5500-6000rpm to get torque. TL-S peaks at 3500.

It all depends on what she is looking for. With todays gas prices and the car being brand new - tsx. If she want performance and does not care that gas is over $3 a gallon and accepts the facts that it might need a tranny down the line - tl. I drove the tsx and loved it - untill I stepped on the gas. The car is a slug. I work for Honda and for the same money or less she can get a new Accord V6 or 4cly with Navi and it would be brand new. A new car is in most cases always better then a used car because you can maintain it the way you want from day one. You can make a tsx look great just don't expect a whole lotta performance out of it. I would opt for the loaded out V6 Accord over the tsx.

TSX would be better simply because it is a smaller car handles better and its new car vs. an 02. Good luck in your car hunt.

Something tells me he's not talking about brand new TSXs. My bet is he means 04 models, as they would be closest in price to 02-03 TL-S Navis on the market.

Since i prefer the size of the TSX over the TL, and that i do have a very heavy foot, i'm better with the TSX...i prefer the more nimble response of it.

Posted in the wrong forum. Post in off-topic > car talk. Thread closed.

BTW, did you think everyone here would say "Pick a TSX"?

Personally, I would go with a TSX if you want better fuel economy, choice of a manual tranny, built in Japan / rock-solid assembly. Otherwise, for roominess and 260hp (at the crank) power, TL-S.
