Tl transmission delema

I have finally decided what i am going to do about my TL and all the transmission problems... I paid cash for the car, and it is a 2000 TL by the way, so it is worth arround 20000... If i sold it, 20,000 wouldnt get me into anything nice, so I am going to have to stick with it. I like my TL, it is perfect in every way right now... i have 20678 miles on it, and plan on keeping it to about 10-15g's a year... When it gets close to 50000, i will go buy the extended warenty... that puts me to 2007 and 100000 miles.... at that point, I will sell the car and buy something new. Although I think acura sells a good car for a good price, i am not willing to keep the car unless it is under a powertrain warenty. People have qouted a transmission replacement cost of 8000 dollars. That is retarded, and knowing acura;s transmission problem history, it would be stupid to own this car out of warenty... Plus, the new altima's are cheaper and faster, the maxima is the same way... Infinity I35 is going to be sweet.... I dont know. A BMW would be nice. I like the Mercs too... It is just not worth all the hassel anymore, but as long as acura is apaying the repair bills, i dont care.

Why is it that every other post these days is about tranny failures .

If it makes you sleep better at night, go get the extended warranty. Given the rash of tranny failures reported, I would still buy another Acura though .
